University for life

Two days ago saw the anniversary of me starting university, but this year is special in that it's been a whole 10 years since I entered the university system. And as you can see I've still not left. Can it really have been that long? Yes, is the answer, it really can. No wonder I feel so old compared to the fresh-faced, bright-eyed young students that I see milling around the university. But, hey, I plan to spend much longer in the loving arms of lady academia, so I'd better get used to it.

  1. From one long-time server to another: happy anniversary! To be honest, it scares the shit out of me that I've been at university this long. Aside from everything else, I can't get used to the idea of teaching people who were born in 1990. In the nineties. Who are now wearing the Metallica and Nirvana t-shirts that we wore the first time around as new, but which are now 'retro.' What the hell?!

  2. Oh yeh by the way - it's therefore nearly the 10 year anniversary of Finnegan's / Huntley St / camping out in your room afterwards! Good old Ramsay Hall! Do you still eat marmite and bananas, washed down with a cool refereshing Stella when drunk? Mwah-ha-ha-ha-haaaa... Good times.

  3. Well next time I'm down south we'll have to do a 10 year anniversary tour. By the way, did you go to the official 10 year reunion thing?

The combined banana and marmite thing has not be reattempted since, and anyway is was James who tried it first ;)
